SQL Server Permission Scripting

Automated Scripting of Permissions

What is it?
You can access all the code by clicking the button below. I ran this against StackOverflow2010 from Brent Ozar. It will not only script all permissions, but also generate the correct SQL statements so you can recreate them if needed. This allows for auditing and traceability of all SQL permissions, providing a source of truth. It will script:

Server Roles and Server-Level Permissions
Logins to be created
Role-Level Permissions
Users per Database
User-Level Permissions
Object-Level Permissions

How to install?
Simply copy and paste the script into each SQL Instance, or use Central Management Servers to install on multiple instances. Press F5 or click Execute, and you're done. If you do not want, or do not have, a DBA database, open the code in Notepad (for example) and search and replace all instances of "DBA" with whatever you like.
